New Yamaha MT-07 launched- Bold look And Smart Advance Features, ₹48,000 Down Payment Offer!

The 2025 Yamaha MT-07 is the latest generation of Yamaha’s popular middleweight naked street bike. It’s designed to offer better performance, improved handling, and more modern technology while keeping that raw, fun riding experience.

Engine & Power

The MT-07 continues with the 689 cc parallel-twin “CP2” engine, liquid cooled. It now delivers around 72.4 bhp and ≈ 66.9 Nm torque. It also gets a ride-by-wire throttle setup with three riding modes and a traction control system to give better control and responsiveness. Transmission is a 6-speed manual, and there is an optional Y-AMT semi-automatic transmission in some markets.

Chassis & Handling

Yamaha has revised the frame to a more rigid tubular steel build, which improves stiffness in multiple directions. The front suspension now features 41 mm inverted forks (USD forks) and the rear mono-shock is preload and rebound adjustable. Some weight savings too: with lighter wheels (spin-forged rims), lighter bodywork pieces, etc., the dry weight is about 183 kg, slightly lighter than the old model.

Seat height has been lowered to 805 mm, handlebars are wider and moved closer to the rider, and footpegs are lowered 10 mm for better comfort.

Features & Electronics

The 2025 MT-07 gets a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, new switchgear, self-canceling indicators and modern LED lighting. There are multiple riding modes (Sport, Road, Custom etc.), switchable traction control, and an assist & slipper clutch on the manual version. The acoustic amplifying feature is added too — special intake/airbox or ports on the fuel tank that help channel engine induction sounds to the rider, for a more engaging auditory experience.

Dimensions, Fuel & Other Specs

Fuel tank capacity is 14-litres. Ground clearance, exact wet weight etc. depend on region, but kerb/wet-weight is ~ 183-184 kg. Tyres are 120/70-ZR17 at the front, 180/55-ZR17 at rear. Brakes up front are dual 298 mm discs with radial mount calipers; rear brake is a single 245 mm disc.

What’s Changed / Why It Matters

More premium feel: better suspension, better build, more tech.

Improved ergonomics: lower seat & repositioned controls make it more accessible.

More riding modes & electronics bring adaptability for different road conditions.

Sound enhancement to make riding experience richer.

Slight weight reduction helps with agility and responsiveness.

Price & Availability

As of now, Yamaha has not officially confirmed the price of MT-07 2025 in many markets. In India, estimates put ex-showroom price around ₹7.5-8 lakh, if/when it launches. There is no confirmation yet if it will come to India or exactly when.
